Sanskrit Diwas is celebrated to honor and promote the ancient Indian language Sanskrit, which is known as the mother of many Indian and Indo-European languages. It is observed on Shravan Purnima, which usually falls in August.

Sanskrit is not only a language of communication but also a rich repository of India’s cultural, spiritual, and intellectual heritage. Many important texts like the Vedas, Upanishads, epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata, and numerous scientific and philosophical works are written in Sanskrit.
